Although things can change in the blink of an eye....it will be alright.

We hope everyone has had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving.............we sure did. It is hard to believe it is already here, and almost over.

A quick family photo

Abuelo frying our turkey...............UMMMMHHHH!!!

During this time last year our family was preparing for Brent's return home from a six month deployment. Things can change in the blink of an eye. Three weeks ago Brent decided to play basketball with a fellow officer during their designated physical training and the game quickly ended when Brent ruptured his achilles tendon. I did not realize the seriousness of his injury until we met with his doctor. I am thrilled to say all went well with the surgery. Brent has been in a cast for the past three weeks. Yesterday he had his stitches removed & soon he will begin to slowly put pressure on his foot again. I have no dought that he will have a speedy recovery as he is very independent! :-)

We recently spent six days in Cocoa Beach, and Orlando, Florida for our family vacation. Thank goodness Brent did not hurt himself before we left town for some much needed R&R. We had a great time! Hannah is still amazed by the rocket launch at the Kennedy Space Center, and of course Walt Disney World was a highlight of our vacation too. Although we had a great time, we were ready to return home.

The start of our family Vacation 2009

Here we are arriving at Walt Disney World

Our first stop.......EPCOTT

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

Our last stop........The MAGIC KINGDOM

COCOA BEACH.......so pretty & relaxing

An evening on the pier

Our last evening out to dinner before returning home.

As you can see the girls are continuing to grow & grow. Savannah turned "4" on October 19th..........she is learning so much from her big sister. Every evening during our homework hour, Savannah wants to be right beside Hannah while she is doing her homework. Hannah is such a wonderful big sister!

We had a GREAT time trick-or-treating with the girls. This was the first year we stayed behind as they went up to the door to get their candy. Hannah was a cute little witch, and Savannah was a little fairy. We ended HALLOWEEN hanging out with our friends, Nate & Joleen. Joleen's costume was very creative, especially for a pregnant girl! :-)

Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? YIKES!!!! I am just thrilled that Brent will be home for the holidays this year. We are planning to spend a lot of time with Abuelo & Abuela at their cabin (The Szychulda Chalet) enjoying some true crisp holiday weather. We want to wish everyone a HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!!! Have fun getting everything ready.......... I know I can't wait to put up our holiday decor............maybe tomorrow. :-)

Before I end our update...............we want to share that our thoughts are with our friend Jamie & her family. Her beautiful mother, Donna, has passed after a very long battle with breast cancer.

Even when Donna was not feeling her best, she still made it to our girls birthday celebrations.

Donna was an amazing woman who will always be remembered, and always have a special place in our hearts. We will miss her, but are happy she is no longer having to suffer.

Until next time.......................HUGS from our family to yours.

The First Day of Fall............

As I began to update our family blog, I turned to Hannah and asked her "what should we name the title of our blog post today?" At first she looked at me confused and then said "mommy, I know, I know..........The First Day of Fall". I must say, I am quite impressed with her thought! :-)
It has been several months since we have updated our blog. Spring, and summer have passed and now fall is officially here. It sure does not feel like Fall out with the warm weather we are having here in Southern California........yikes!
Over the last several months Hannah graduated from Pre-K, and Savannah graduated from Pre-School. Our little girls are growing way too fast!!! In July the girls had their very first dance recital, which we will always remember. Now Hannah is officially a Kindergartner, and a very proud one. Our little Savannah is now in Pre-K. Where is the time going? Brent and I keep saying we need to slow down and cherish the girls being little before they are all grown up.

Well we hope everyone is doing great and staying healthy. Enjoy our pictures.....................
